And on the top of the fantasy monster food chain: dragons.
TheDave should've stayed in bed that day. Dragons are powerful, intelligent, terrifying forces. They usually keep to themselves and only attack those who seek to raid its treasure. This is good news for humanity, because if these things wanted to take over the world, they probably would. If you encounter a dragon, the smartest thing to do is GTFO or you will die horribly.
There are seven types of dragons, each representing one of the seven elements of the game. If you haven't figured them out yet, they are: fire, water, air, earth, holy, psionic, dark. Dragons are a fun extra to tackle towards the end of the game when you get high-end gear and you don't think the main plot is challenging you enough.
Dragons can be inflicted with most bad status, but they have the ability to reset their status every few turns, curing them of their ailments. Still though, if you can get one envenomed for two turns, that's 20% of it's health gone right there. Another strategy would be to exploit its magic weakness to death. You could also try to pimp your party out with some blinging gear and march off to your inevitable death. Some awesomely epic dragon-battle-specific music plays when you encounter one. You'll be able to taste the fear!

West Canyon
Here's a nostalgic location (for me at least). The West Canyon (awesome name eh) is a map I made about 6 years ago. I've reused it for a bunch of other games I've made and this incarnation of it is by far the most developed. This area is great for jumping around in (because there are so many low walls). There are so many secrets here, your face may explode.Baru and Skully join forces. Random encounters, beware.
Your good friend Skully is always there to lend you some helpful advice.
A hot desert canyon, plagued by snow? Meh.
Hey... it's like a blizzard in a desert. A desert littered with inexplicably placed treasure boxes.Dark clouds roll in and pwn the canyon. The weather anomaly here is nothing compared to the other disasters. If this world's going to hell, who's driving the bus? Probably Teh Jamesy.

Demons
One particularly nasty type of foe you'll run in to in the game are demons.
Scary stuff. Demons are embodiments of one of the five nether elements. These are Terror, Hatred, Chaos, Suffering, and Death. Kressalack pioneered controlling these forces to create beings. Things that bring demons in to the world are not truly gates, but are actually spires that gather these elements from the land. Thus, a happy vomit-inducing land of flowers and butterflies couldn't breed demons, but a war-torn land could.
Demons are always one of the five nether elements, since it's their very nature. Demons of terror feed off the fears of other and prefer psychological torture to ending lives; they have a terror ability that causes paralysis. Demons of chaos seek to destroy order, though they are not organized in their goal and attack targets randomly; they use a spell called Chaos Anthem that causes mass confusion. Demons of hatred attack with extreme prejudice and malice; they have an ability to inflict hatred upon others, causing berserk. Demons of suffering sustain themselves through the agony of others; they use slow killing effects like poison and combine it with disabling skills, rendering poisoned targets helpless. Demons of death have a simple objective, destroy all sentient life. Even though their objective may clash with the objective of other demons, they are the strongest type of demon and therefore get precedence. They use instant kill spells often.
Demons are all resistant to dark magic and susceptible to holy. Even though demons are usually major boss-type encounters, they can be afflicted by bad status (at a low chance). Some can even be destroyed by instant death effects. Some demons are immune to certain effects (e.g. you can't destroy demons of death with death effects) and each is weak against a specific element. Silver weapons are also useful against demons. If you encounter one, you'll need a strategy for staying alive.

Air Tech
Following Fire and Water tech is the Air tech. Check it out.
Shizam. Air tech gives you a bonus to your agility. Many air spells hit all targets, and junctioning other elements with air can give you the ability to cast spells on multiple baddies.
Gust of Wind: Deals weak air damage to all targets. This works great against groups of flying enemies.
Air Constrict: Tighten air around a target to paralyze it. This disable works on really tough monsters.
Hurricane: Deals a good amount of air damage to all targets. Great for crowd control. You should only use this spell on individual monsters if they are weak to it.
Aerokinesis: Deals massive air damage to all targets. This is the only kinesis that can hit all targets. Aerokinetic characters become more spontaneous and outspoken, but they get bored quickly.
Flamethrower (+F): Deals fire/air damage and weakens fire resistance.
Lightning Bolt (+F): Zaps the hell out of something, dealing massive fire/air damage.
Healing Shower (+W): Heals all allies. Maybe this will get your party to stop bickering over who's on potion duty.
Ice Prison (+W): Deals good water/air damage and traps the target in a block of ice.
Sandstorm (+E): Blinds all enemies. Blinded enemies have a lousy hit rate.
Sand Shield (+E): Increases the defense of your entire party. This stat increase can stack, so you can cast it a couple times to beef your party right up.
Heat Cyclone (+F +W): Huge multi-element damage to one target. A discount ultimate spell.
Ash Wind (+F +E): Blinds and stuns all enemies. Also deals some fire/air/earth damage. Repeated castings of this can effectivly stun-lock all of the enemies.
Revival Winds (+W +E): Heals your entire party. Recovers allies who have been knocked to 0 HP.
Some unique air spells:
Bombard: Deals good air damage to all enemies. Also causes mass stun. This spell uses up a lot of mana, so you can't really spam it.
Wing Flap: Deals weak air damage to all targets. Fun fact, you can't use this skill if you're disabled.
Suffocate: Silences all targets. A popular spell with demons.
Fawt: A move that TheDave can unlock. When he lets this go, all enemies choke and die. Some become poisoned by the fumes, some get knocked out, some keel over and die immediately, while all of them are dealt air damage. Nasty.
I'll probably post a giant spell compendium later. It'll be an easy update: just copy-pasta.

Maya Bio
Maya is an old friend of Tsujin's from Celest. Well, maybe old is the wrong word. Maya is oozing with naivety and bouncy energy. You get the picture. Maya isn't introduced until later in the game. When the party enters Celest, she practically tackle-glomps Tsujin.
She has a playing style similar to Tsujin. She can use a variety of divine skills, but is much lower level than the party. She'll probably wind up being more a liability than an asset. She is resistant to holy but susceptible to dark magic.

Tsujin Saves Christmas
Well, that was a fun holiday season. AARPG blog is back! What have I been working on during the dead time? I made a comic called Tsujin Saves Christmas as a present to my roommate. It has similarities to the Awesome Adventure RPG.Dragons destroying the city. It's up to us to stop them!
Baru using Ether Fist. Taste the shiny wrath!
These three panels are in no particular order. The book has 48 pages. I'll post the whole thing online some time.

Welcome to my Minigame Land
TheDave hosts a series of mini games in hidden locations. Why does he do that, you ask? Well... erm... go check out the screen shots below.
So, in the above picture, we have Baru and TheDave running around. And random animals. And some health bars. Have fun making sense of that one.
The image above looks like a puzzle. But what is it a puzzle of? It's a mystery.
The trivia randomizes questions from a huge selection of facts with various difficulty ranges. Notice the awesome Zelda dark world style. Except... dammit... the water container outside of the house is broken.
These are only a few of the many hidden games. You only get one shot to beat each, but if you win, you get some nifty prizes.
